originally was Kaptain Killgore on the 2gnt.com
forums in 2001. 2GNT is a website devoted and dedicated to a group
of 2nd generation nonturbo Eclipse RS/GS models from 1999 to 1999.
The forum is a community where car nuts can talk cars and help each
other out, educating mentally and in spirit. Kaptain Killgore
became Kaptain_Mike on 2GNT after his login was lost
or a site conversion, either way, can't remember right now. KaptainMyke
was learning photoshop at this time and was picking up all sorts of
neat things you could do with it. Soon other members on 2GNT and Kaptain_Mike
engaged in battles and photoshop wars that would sometimes ensue for
weeks at a time. In the PITS section, an off-topic section of the
2GNT forum is where most of this took place. The site admins and moderators
seemed to frown upon misplaced and offbeat subjects in the rather
serious technical areas of the site. Over a period of several months
to an evental year, Kaptain_Mike and his buddies may have went too
far....
A
new home
In
2002 was the first banning and closing of the PITS on 2GNT.com's forum.
KaptainMyke registered again this time from Kaptain_Mike
to now the present KaptainMyke. During this time,
KaptainMyke created a new website, with his own hosting and a place
to upload his own images. KaptainMyke.com
was born and started on a hosting plan of 800 mb. At least 200 members
from 2GNT came over and registered.

KaptainMyke.com
became very popular and often times threads would cross back over to
2GNT. Finally, we had a place of our own to screw around while at work
and college all day... without intruding on the original ideals and
principles of the great online educational community that we all have
come to know and love about 2GNT.com. Bandwidth at KaptainMyke's Kasa
started to break and needed to expand. The site was moved to a bigger
hosting plan to cover the size of images on the Invision Board forum
.

Off
For
two years the site was at its highest prime from 2002-2004. So who wants
to go to a weird kaptain, whatever-website to photoshop? The members
of KaptainMyke's Photoshop Kasa were thinking maybe we needed a new
name.
Name
Change?
Broke-Off.com
is the artist formally known as KaptainMyke.com
that started in October of 2002. In March of 2005, the photoshop masters
and KaptainMyke decided to break away and create a new name for the
photoshop forum. The name was voted on and changed to "Broke Off". Broke
off is an adjective describing insult or injury to oneself on the Internet.
To get "broke off", means simply you just humiliated yourself via photo
or screen capture. A term coined and originated from this forum, "broke
off" is similar to the proverbial "owned" concept or "ownage" of humiliation
online in todays post 2000 modern pop culture era.

Personal, Just Business
Broke Off, Inc. was incorporated by its founder in October of 2005 in
the state of Texas. KaptainMyke and Mrs. KaptainMyke are the current
and sole shareholders. Annual board meetings take place every October
of every year. To date, the corporation upholds and maintains primarily
Internet and online businesses. The company's primary focus is mostly
placed on KaptainMyke.com and social networking sites like Myspace and
Facebook. Other lucrative creative developments have been planned since
fall of 2006.
The
Forum
The forum itself has undergone changes over the years since its creation
in 2002. All the posts seen today are the original postings and images
from the original forum. The forum has been converted and changed from
phpBB, to VBulletin, to DCForum, and back to InvisionBoard. There was
a one year hiatus or sebaticle one could say as the forum was hacked
indefinitely and repeatedly in 2006. Finally, the forum was taken down
due to exhausted efforts to thwart the evildoers. The final straw was
the forum being held for $300 ransom in a laughable manner. The forum
was restored to its opulant glory once again, and in its entirety during
the winter of 2007.
